Index To Analysis By Date
October 2000 - December 2000 Listings:
WOMAN ON TOP
(R) -- It means what it says.
Oct. 2000;
REMEMBER
THE TITANS (PG) -- a really, really,
really _____ movie. There were sins in it, not many but there were some.
But this was a really, really, really good movie, PG notwithstanding.
Oct. 2000;
MEET THE
PARENTS (PG-13) -- "You are subtracting
points for someone's name!?" Oct. 2000;
THE
LITTLE MERMAID: Return to the Sea (G)
-- a typical "feed the adolescent ego" movie. There was as much
adolescent rebellion and arrogance against parental authority in this
Disney flick for the magnitude or total envelope of them to be
numerically equivalent to the rebellion and arrogance in R-rated movies
of 1995/6. Oct. 2000;
NURSE BETTY
(R) -- violent and saturated with vulgar language. Overall NASTY, SICK
movie. Oct. 2000;
LEFT BEHIND,
The Movie (PG) Outstanding movie for teens
and adults - not recommended for young children due to non-comprehension
of the movies theme. Oct. 2000;
PAY IT
FORWARD (PG-13) -- another "R-13"
and more schoolyard murder. As if the benevolence and cuteness are to
excuse evil and dark sinister programming. Oct. 2000;
BEDAZZLED
(PG-13) -- another "R-13" teen sex flick mocking God. Oct. 2000;
LOST SOULS
(R) -- dreams about "XES". Oct. 2000;
BOOK OF
SHADOWS: BLAIR WITCH 2 (R) - was no
exception! Nov. 2000;
LUCKY
NUMBERS (R) -- Kinda puts perspective
on His anger... foul language was rampant in *Lucky Numbers*. And
so was sexual immorality. And so was drugs and drinking. Nov.
2000;
THE
LITTLE VAMPIRE (PG) In this kid's
flick, vampirism is glorified and made "acceptable" by endearing the
characters with likable and unselfish characteristics. Nov. 2000;
CHARLIE'S ANGELS (PG-13) -- Angels they
were not. And yes, another R-13. Nov. 2000;
THE LEGEND
OF BAGGER VANCE (PG-13) --
definitely NOT PG-13 but most definitely a
R-13. Nov. 2000;
MERCY
STREETS (PG-13) -- wrought with
violence but Scripturally accurate. Nov. 2000;
RED PLANET:
COLOR OF FEAR (PG-13) is a quality
production which does not rely heavily on high-tech gadgetry and
wizardry but rather presents a thinking man's version of the sci-fi of
the 50s. But this time the girl takes her
clothes off. All of them [Num. 15:39, Rev. 3:18]. And there
is "R-rated" language. Nov. 2000;
LITTLE
NICKY (PG-13) -- every bit R as any
other R-rated movie. Nov. 2000;
MEN OF HONOR
(R) -- every bit a R-rated show, but inspirational. Nov. 2000;
THE YARDS
(R) -- a waste of the entertainment dollar. I don't remember any
sunlight in the movie at all! Nov. 2000;
THE 6TH DAY (PG-13) -- a thousand
10-point Nasties instead of ten 1000-point Nasties. Nov. 2000;
HOW THE
GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS (PG) -- some of
the adult reactions were not good. Nov. 2000;
RUGRATS
IN PARIS: THE MOVIE (G) -- "I want a
mom who'll take my hand and make me feel like a holiday" Nov.
2000;
102
DALMATIANS (G) -- again she seeks
Dalmatians for their fur. Nov 2000;
UNBREAKABLE
(PG-13) -- Do we still wonder from where kids get such ideas? Nov.
2000;
BOUNCE
(PG-13) -- a widowed woman bouncing back from her husband's death.
Dec. 2000;
PROOF OF
LIFE (R) -- though the programming
presents no sexual properties other than assumptions, it is still...
Dec. 2000;
THE
EMPEROR'S GROOVE (G) -- there are some
possible lesson-building tools, but that is not my call -- it is yours.
Dec. 2000;
VERTICAL
LIMIT (PG-13) -- who lives and who
dies? Dec. 2000;
DUNGEONS
& DRAGONS (PG-13) -- it is not the
board game turned movie, it is
just gothic eye candy.
Dec. 2000;
BILLY
ELLIOT (R) -- mathematically equivalent
to very hardcore R in language. Dec. 2000;
DUDE,
WHERE'S MY CAR? (PG-13) --
check your brain at the door...and yes, it was
R-13 A string of completely gross-out imagery and
script reminiscent of *Dumb and Dumber*. If there was any talent
in *Dumb and Dumber* there was less in *Dude, Where's My Car? Dec.
2000;
QUILLS
(R) - Partial -- no comment - that's how bad
(webmaster's comment)! Dec. 2000;
WHAT
WOMEN WANT (PG-13) a teen casual
sex flick. Dec. 2000;
CAST AWAY
(PG-13) rear nudity offensive to some. Dec. 2000;
THE FAMILY
MAN (PG-13) -- a "glimpse" of how
things might have been...if he had said "yes" Dec. 2000;
MISS
CONGENIALITY (PG-13) -- Bullock as a
"R-13" beauty contestant! Dec. 2000;
July 2000 - September 2000 Listings:
The Patriot
(R) -- a really fine brutal movie. Wow! *The
Patriot* was amazing! Amazing in many ways. Talents.
Artistry. Accuracy of the time period. Casting. Settings and
backdrops. And brutality. July 2000;
Chicken Run
(G) -- Chicken fun with amazing effort but with a touch of "adult
humor." July 2000;
The
Perfect Storm (PG-13) -- Some great fx, but
another R-13 July 2000;
The
Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle (PG)
-- just not the same as 36 years ago. July 2000;
Scary Movie
(R) A SPECIAL ALERT!
Of more than 320 movie analyses, Scary Movie (R) is the first to earn a
CAP Final Score of zero. There was no plot, no theme, and no sense to
Scary Movie. It was just 81 minutes of wanton licentious disregard
for righteousness, moral character and inhibition. July 2000; The
Kid (PG) -- Bruce W. is getting a name
costarring with kids. July 2000;
X-Men
(PG-13 -- One point above R, almost another "R-13" July 2000;
Big Momma's
House (PG-13) -- Yet another "R-13" -
Though *Big Momma's House* presented a really good and moving love
story, some great high-energy black Gospel Fire, and even some reliance
on the Scriptures for theatric continuity with some artistic genius by
group of actors and actresses, it was vulgar and otherwise unacceptable
in many ways. July 2000;
Shanghai
Noon (PG-13) -- Just because there's no
nudity does not mean it is
not equivalent to R. July 2000;
What
Lies Beneath (PG-13) -- A "proper"
PG-13 for a change. July 2000;
Nutty
Professor II: The Klumps (PG-13) --
Vulgar artistic genius - July 2000;
Thomas and the
Magic Railroad (G) -- delightful romp
for the preschool set and for bonding with them. July 2000;
Coyote Ugly
(PG-13) -- another "R-13" August 2000;
Space
Cowboys (PG-13) -- At last another
PG-13 that is not an "R-13" -- but with nudity again and tons of foul
language! August 2000;
BLESS THE
CHILD (R) -- a huge mix of New
Testament accuracy with counterfeiting to mislead, very subtle. August
2000;
Trainspotting (R) -- a very dark and
ugly movie about drug addiction. August 2000;
The
Devil's Advocate (R) -- is a lawyer...
who gets a taste of the good life that comes from high-dollar legalese.

The
Replacements (PG-13) -- another "R-13".
August 2000;
The Cell
(R) -- a bizarre trip into man's perception of the deranged mind. August
2000;
Autumn
in New York (PG-13) -- but barely a
PG-13. A thorough romantic tragedy. Well written. Well
performed. A borderline PG-13, right on the cell boundary between
PG and PG-13. Though the chemistry was just not there between
Winona Ryder and Richard Gere, the total package was touching and warm,
but ridden with sexual immorality without the nudity. August 2000;
Godzilla
2000 (PG) -- a journey back into the
60s and 70s Sept. 2000;
Highlander: Endgame (R) -- "Before Adam

The Crew
(PG-13) -- another R-13, a hardcore R-13.
Sept. 2000;
Saving
Grace (R) -- *Saving Grace* will not
provide eternal Salvation, but it may lead to elsewhere. Sept. 2000;
The Watcher
(R) -- when is Hollywood again going to make
wholesome entertainment? Sept. 2000;
Small
Time Crooks (PG) -- small time return
on your entertainment dollar! Sept. 2000;
The Art of War
(R) -- or "The 'Art' of R" Sept. 2000;
Urban Legend: Final Cut (R) -- another
slasher flick with Murder/Suicide receiving the highest score (41) of
